According to reports, the move comes due to lower-than-expected sales for the model in the end-market. HTC had recently denied any plans to launch a 'Mini' version of its One M9 flagship smartphone and will discontinue its mini product lineup.

HTC launched its latest flagship device, HTC One M9, with a grey metallic handset moulded from a single piece of aluminium at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The HTC One M9 sports 5-inch full HD display with corning Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The smartphone is powered with a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor backed 3GB of RAM.

M9 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has an internal storage of 32GB which can be expanded upto 128GB via microSD card.

It sports a 20MP rear-camera and packs a non-removable Li-Po 2840 mAh battery. HTC also revealed a new connected "fitness band" body -monitoring bracelet and a virtual reality headset that it said it hoped to sell commercially by the end of the year.
