The phone features a fingerprint sensor and runs Marshmallow, the latest version of Android. With its latest entrant, HTC hopes to recapture market share lost to Chinese players like Xiaomi in the country.

“The goal is to offer the pricing closer to the launch, but we will have a surprise for the buyers,” said Chia-Lin Chang, president of global sales, HTC.
We are not here for a year or two. We know that building customer loyalty is important for long term growth,” he said, adding that HTC has had a good India story so far. “Performance in India is going to have an impact on global numbers.”
