The smartphone was earlier launched globally on April 12. The HTC 10 is believed to give tough competition to Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and LG's G5. While Samsung's top-tier phones are already available in India, LG's G5 is expected to land here on June 1.

The phone is available at a starting price of USD699 (Rs 46,413) in the US. It would be interesting to see how HTC prices the phone in India. While the Galaxy S7 is priced at Rs 46,000, the LG G5 is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 53,000.

Following are the specifications of HTC 10:

  • The phone comes with a full-metal unibody with distinct chamfers. The front is carved out of Corning Gorilla Glass 4
  • It comes with a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing purposes
  • It comes with a 5.2-inch QuadHD super LCD 5 display with a 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution
  • The phone is powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 820 processor
  • The HTC 10 is clubbed with 4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal memory which is further expandable by up to 2TB via microSD card.
  • The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Sense 7 UI and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
  • The HTC 10 sports a 12-megapixel (UltraPixel) camera at the rear with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, Optical Image Stabilisation and dualLED flash.
  • There's also a 5-megapixel camera at the front with f/1.8 aperture, autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and a screen flash.
  • The phone supports BoomSound Hi-Fi with Dolby Audio. It has a dual speaker layout boasting of a separate tweeter and woofer design along with a dedicated amplifier for each.
  • The HTC 10 is backed by a 3,000mAh battery which is non-removable.
