Jaipur: Amid swirling political dust over Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law, Robert Vadra, receiving unsecured loans from construction giant DLF and accumulating property worth crores of Rupees in Delhi NCR region, now it has appeared that Vadra has amassed huge property in Rajasthan’s Bikaner and Jaisalmer.

It has surfaced that Vadra has accumulated 311 acre land in Bikaner district during past three years and many Bighas in Jaisalmer. According to registration department officials of Bikaner division, Robert has purchased many properties since 2009 and the plots have been registered in the name of various companies of Vadra.

On condition of anonymity, a senior IAS officer said that the state government was not only well aware of these land dealing but Vadra had even received unofficial help from the government. He went on to say that the officials of Bikaner were even transferred to create a favourable situation for Vadra.

It has been found that 161 acre land was purchased in Gajner-Kolayat area of Bikaner in the name of a company- North India IT Parks Pvt Ltd. The cost of the property was nearly Rs 102 lakh at the time when it was purchase. Nearly 150 acre land was purchased in six different areas of Bikaner which cost nearly Rs 243 lakh when it was purchased. These properties were purchased in the name Of a company- Real Earth Estates PvT Ltd, Skylight Reality Ltd and Skylight Hospitality Pvt Ltd.

The officials of registration department say that many companies have purchased over 3000 acre land in the Bikaner region in the recent years. It is believed that the companies are highly interested in purchasing land in the region as it is rich with high quality gypsum.
