Ghaziabad:  With Diwali just round the corner, trains are getting heavily crowded. There is no space in general bogies and sleeper class. All the prominent trains going to eastern UP and Bihar are jam-packed.

Diwali falls on October 26, so there is maddening rush for tickets of October 22 and 23. Now situation is, one cannot get even waiting ticket. In the last 2 or 3 days, there has been colossal increase in demand for tickets.

Trains which travel via Ghaziabad like Awadh Assam Express, Kashi Vishwanath Express, Shramjeevi Express, Sadbhavna Express, Padmavati Express, Vaishali Express, Kalka, Mahananda, Seemanchal, Farakka, North East, Lichhavi and many more are heavily crowded. Trains going towards Patna, Muzaffarpur, Katihar, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Allahabad, Banaras, Gorakhpur are also packed to the brim.
The waiting list stands between 250 and 300 in the two special trains running between Delhi to Patna and Delhi to Darbhanga.

Reservation counter, Ghaziabad, has witnessed a beeline of people struggling for booking tickets. The opening time of the reservation counter is 8am while people queue up from 5 in the morning.
