New Delhi: The fresh data of the Delhi government states that the per capita income in the national capital is Rs 1, 76, 000 yearly, but the truth seems to something different as one person dies of huger or poverty in every week here.

This has been disclosed in an RTI report on deaths caused by hunger and poverty in the national capital. During the 14 –year old Congress regime in national capital around 737 people died of hunger and poverty.

In reply to the RTI query of Nair Alam a resident of Seelampur area, it was said that a total of 62 persons died of hunger and poverty in 2011. Out of which, 15 and 47 persons died of hunger and poverty respectively while 11 persons died till March, 2012. In 2010, total of 58 persons died of hunger and poverty, while 60 persons died in 2009.
