In order to avoid Grand i10 overshadowing the sales of the lower i10 variants the company has not only discontinues with  the 1.2-litre Kappa 2 petrol engine and the top of the line Sportz and Asta variants too.

The i10 will now feature only the 1.1 litre 4 cylinder iRDE engine as the Kappa2 powered i10 is out of the production process. In 2010 Hyundai had launched a facelifted version of the i10 in India which uses a Kappa 2 engine with VTVT Technology to further improve performance of this engine.

The Hyundai i10 is a city car produced by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai since 2007. It replaced the Hyundai Atos in the model line-up and has been available only with a five-door hatchback body style.
