In a tough competition from Honda Amaze and Ford EcoSport in the final round, Hyundai’s Grand i10 also edged out BMW 1Series, Chevrolet Enjoy, Mahindra Verito Vibe, Mercedes-Benz GL350, Nissan Terrano and Skoda Octavia to earn the country’s highest automotive award.

Grand i10, launched on September 3, is the face-lifted version of i10 and it can be seen dominating the Indian roads. The company sold its 33,000 units within just 30 days of its launch. The car is known for its premium features, stylish design, quality and technology. In addition to this, Grand i10 also had one of the highest test drives in the country.

While in 2013, Renault Duster had bagged the prestigious Indian Car of the Year award, it was awarded to Maruti Suzuki Swift in the year 2012. The cars are judged on the basis of price, styling, comfort, fuel efficiency, performance, practicality, technical innovation and some other parameters.

Meanwhile, the prestigious Indian Motorcycle of the Year award was won by Royal Enfield Continental GT.
