The SUV is expected to give though competition to Toyota’s popular SUV, Fortuner in terms of pricing. It is believed that Hyundai will launch new Santa Fe at an introductory price of Rs 22 lakh for the entry-level two wheel drive diesel version with a manual transmission.

The previous Santa Fe had failed to attract buyers because it lacked presence and was pricier when compared to its closed rival Fortuner.

The SUV has new angular headlights with matching fog lamps below. Changes have been made in the side profile by giving sharp crease which runs from the peeled-back headlights through the door handles and all the way to the back to sharply define the upper edge of the rear tail lights. Along with it significant changes are expected to the interiors of the SUV.

Besides the new Santa Fe, Hyundai will also launch the Grand i10 based sub-4m sedan by May-June next year and the all-new i20 during the festive season in the August-September period in 2014.
