Ranchi: India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni was fulsome in his praise for Virender Sehwag. He said that he is proud to claim that both the double centurions in the ODI format were Indians, and hoped the Indian batting maestros will achieve the incredible feat again.

"I am proud that both destructors Sehwag and Sachin Paaji are Indians, and are capable of slamming another double ton again," he said.

Lauding Viru’s incomparable feat at Indore, Dhoni said, “I always believed that the devastating opener would easily score 200 or more runs in a One-day International match.”

Sehwag created history on Thursday becoming the highest scorer ever (219) in a one-day innings and the second cricketer after team-mate Sachin Tendulkar to score a double century. He scored 219 runs in the fourth one-dayer against the West Indies at Indore.

"There are a few who could score double century in ODIs, but I always believed Sehwag could always score 200 the day he will be in form. With Sehwag, it's not just about big shots, but calculative batting as well," Dhoni said.
