In contrast, Aamir Khan starrer 'PK' which was released on December 14 collected around Rs 52.36 crore worldwide. If compared to 'PK', Shankar's 'I' is just five days old whereas 'PK' is a month old.

As per the reports, The Tamil version of ‘I’ has earned around Rs 4.3 crore from 222 screens, while its Telugu version bagged around Rs1.81 crore from 131 centers. ‘I’ in Hindi version has clocked in Rs 6.40 lakh from 36 film plazas in US alone. The different trio versions of 'I' have totaled Rs 6.18 crore box office collection from the US alone.
If the current earning graph remains the same, Shankar's 'I' can easily break all records in its worldwide box office collection leaving PK far behind.

Starring Vikram, 'I' also features Amy Jackson and Upen Patel in important roles. Suresh Gopi is also part of the film's cast. Its music is composed by AR Rahman, while editing is handled by PC Sreeream. The film has fetched a U/A rating from the censor board and has a run time of over three hours.
