"We were not doing a frame-to-frame remake. Therefore, I was required to rewrite the screenplay and the dialogues because we were not translating word by word and scene by scene. I have worked on so many films but I never felt it so challenging to write," Yandamuri said.

He said ‘Anamika’ has superseded the original."We have added a social element which was not part of the original. This has made the remake even more exciting and I feel it will be better than 'Kahaani'," he added.

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, ‘Anamika’ features Nayantara in the role originally played by Vidya Balan.

The other star cast includes Pasupathy, Vaibhav Reddy and Harshvardhan Rane. The film is slated to release on May 1 worldwide.
