Los Angeles: Angelina Jolie had different plans before becoming an actress - she wanted to become a funeral director.

The Oscar-winning actress said after her grandfather passed away she was very upset with the way his funeral was conducted and decided to direct funerals, according to reports.

"It sounds like this very strange, eccentric, dark thing to do but in fact I lost my grandfather and was very upset with his funeral. How somebody passes and how family deals with this passing and what death is should be addressed in a different way. If this whole acting thing didn't work out that was going to be my path," Jolie said.

With that plan not working out the 36-year-old talked about her directorial debut 'In The Land Of Blood And Honey'.

"I still think it's crazy. I think I'd be terrible with a comedy. Everything was something to be careful about and sensitive. I am nervous that people are not going to understand it. I prefer directing. I love having the spotlight on someone else. It's nice for all of that not to matter,"Joile added.
