Mein UP govt dwara ki gyi police karvayi se abhi tak santusth hun I am satisfied with police probe till now, Sartaj, who is a corporal with Indian Air Force, tweeted. When contacted, Sartaj told PTI over phone that he had got this tweeted to Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's office.

A UP government spokesperson had yesterday said the mother, brothers and other kin of Ikhlaq, a resident of Bishada village in Gautam Budh Nagar district whose killing in September sparked nationwide outrage, had called on Yadav at his residence here.  They also said that they do not want any further probe in the matter, an official release issued by the government had said. 50-year-old Ikhlaq was beaten to death and his 22-year-old son Danish critically injured by a 200-strong mob which barged into their house following rumours that the family had consumed beef.

Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar had said that Sartaj was being given accommodation at IAF's Subroto Park residential complex in Delhi. Amidst debate in political circles over the issue, the Union government told Parliament during the current Winter Session that though no inquiry has been initiated by the Home Ministry into the Dadri lynching, a report has been sought from the state government.
