According to sources, Khemkas’ request for a Central deputation was approved after the PMO intervention.

Reportedly Cabinet Secretary had vouched for Khemka’s transfer and recommended PMO on his Central deputation

The 49 year old IAS officer is the incumbent Director General, Archive, in Haryana. Khemka has been cleared for Central government posting as Joint Secretary, the sources said.

The state government had recently forwarded Khemka's application in this regard to the Union government.

Sources say that he had made the request earlier this year asking for Central deputation, but he was told his name can't be circulated as he had a chargesheet against him.

The 1991 batch Senior IAS officer Ashok Khemka last year had been chargesheeted by Haryana government in connection with cancellation of land deal between Robert Vadra and DLF, a move which BJP and INLD said amounted to punishing an "honest" bureaucrat for "exposing scams".

In January, Haryana government had also recommended a CBI probe against the whistleblower IAS officer for alleged irregularities in awarding Rs 8 crore deal to a Gujarat-based firm in 2009 when he was Managing Director of State Warehousing Corporation.
