Mumbai: The International Cricket Council, Manager (Operations) J Patel on Tuesday was detained at the Mumbai airport for violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) as he carrying unaccounted money.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, Patel was detained at the international airport for allegedly carrying Rs 1.25 lakh unaccounted money, customs officials said.

Patel, who had boarded a flight to London, was asked to leave the flight and detained after the unaccounted money was found in his custody, they said, adding that the money was confiscated.
 
However, he was later released in the evening after he paid the fine, the officials said.
