New Delhi: Aiming to provide day-to-day information to rural masses, telecom company Idea Cellular along with value added service provider Handygo, on Monday jointly announced the launch of an interactive voice response-based service.

Idea subscribers will be able to access various information about health, education, finance, weather updates, mandi rates, livestocks, agriculture and fisheries.

Subscribers will pay Re 1 per minute for the service.

"We envisage great potential in the untapped rural market and are bullish about the stupendous feedback from the end consumers," Handygo CEO Praveen Rajpal said in a statement.

The interactive voice response (IVR)-based service 'Behtar Zindagi' has already been launched in Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, UP West and Andhra Pradesh.

Idea has also announced subscription packs for this service. The service is available in all the respective states regional languages along with Hindi and English.
