Balrampur: Former national president of the BJP, Rajnath Singh has assured that if his party is voted to power, a CBI inquiry will be ordered in the MNREGA scams.

Addressing a public rally during his Jan Swabhiman Yatra here on Thursday, Rajnath Singh said “The BJP is working towards ending fear, hunger and corruption from the state. Owing to inflation, the cost of cane has increased by 35 percent whereas the government has also hiked rates by 17 percent.”

Rajnath advocated for fixing cane rates at Rs 300 per quintal.

Interacting with people in Gonda, he said, “The biggest menace is corruption and to curb this practice, BJP will bring Public Service Guarantee Act under which it will ensure timely solution to applications else the concerned officer will be penalized.”

Speaking on the matter of the division of Uttar Pradesh, he said that this was merely an election stunt.

Rajnath also attacked Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and said she was escaping from her responsibilities. Even after many scams were unearthed, she has avoided making any statement.
