New Delhi: In an attempt to check declining interests of students towards higher science education and technology, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) would run a special train 'Gyan Vigyan Mail' all over the country from October 2.

Inspired from its early ‘Science Express’, IGNOU will flag of its ambitious project of Rs 20.7 crore in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to run a University special train Gyan Vigyan Mail.

The train, which is equipped with LCD, DVD, projectors and other hi-tech facilities, will travel around three dozen cities across the country, according to Vice Chancellor of IGNOU, V N Rajashekharan Pillai.

Giving more details of the science train, IGNOU School of Translation Studies and Training Director, Professor Avadhesh Kumar Singh said that there would be 35 instructors in the train and CDs, posters and quiz like activities have been arranged for students.
