Mumbai, Jan 17 (Jagran News Network):  International Indian Film Academy has dropped Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador, the latter told his twitter fans on Monday.

Bachchan has been associated with IIFA since its inception in 2000 as its brand ambassador.

"It's not me …its the organisers of IIFA that do not want me in Toronto. Sri Lanka was the same," the Big B said in a reply on twitter.

Even last year, the entire Bachchan clan had given the awards a skip, citing protests from Tamil groups over their condition in Sri Lanka.

Touted as India’s own Oscars, IIFA awards are held every year at an international location. Bachchan has played a major role in its brand promotion.
