New Delhi: The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-JEE) 2013 were declared on Tuesday.

The JEE Main 2013 results will determine admissions to different National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs), other centrally funded technical institutions.

The JEE (Main) scores will also qualify the students to appear in the JEE Advanced, scheduled to be held on June 2. This is the first time that JEE is being conducted in two parts-JEE Main and JEE Advanced to get into any respective IITs.

Candidates can check their scores of the JEE Test held on April 07 on the website http://www.cbseresults.nic.in/jee/jee_cbse_2013.htm

Based on the JEE Main scores, a total of 1.5 lakh candidates will qualify for the JEE Advanced test. The students qualifying for JEE Advanced should register online between May 8 and 13.

Over 10 lakh students appeared for JEE (Main) test out of which 9 lakh students opted for the pen-and-paper test while 1.5 lakh students took the online test.

Class 12 board marks will carry 40 percent weightage and JEE scores will carry 60 percent weightage for admissions to Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). The IIT-JEE test is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The 15 IITs are IIT-Bombay, IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bhubaneshwar , IIT-Gandhinagar, IIT-Guwahati, , IIT-Indore, IIT-Rajasthan, IIT-Hyderabad, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Madras, IIT-Mandi, IIT-Patna, IIT-Roorkee and IIT-Ropar.
