Margao: Goan giant Dempo will be looking forward to maintain their winning streak when they take on Shillong Lajong in the seventh round of the I-League to be played at the Nehru Stadium here on Wednesday.

Dempo have done wonderfully well so far this season in the I-League. They beat Pune FC 3-1 in their last match to remain unbeaten at the top of the table with 18 points from six matches.

Never before Dempo got such a perfect start and coach Armando Colaco wants to field the same side that beat Pune FC and warned his boys not to lose focus and instead concentrate on winning Wednesday's game against Lajong who bounced back to win against Pailan Arrows after three defeats.

"The Northeast team Shillong Lajong is a tricky side who has the potential to beat any side on their given day and we have to be on guard against them and keep our unbeaten record intact," stated Colaco.

Shillong Lajong who scored a hard-fought 1-0 win over Pailan Arrows have moved to the eight place, above Salgaocar and Pune FC, have eight points from six matches and would be keen to upset Dempo's unbeaten run.

Lajong coach Pradhyum Reddy knows that it is going to be tough match especially against a side whose confidence is high after a series of wins and who have the added advantage of playing on home turf.

Reddy concedes that that it is going to be a tough match but expresses confidence about the boys who giving their best to garner a point if not a win.

Dempo is an experienced side with as many as eight players playing for India and have been playing together as a team for the last several years, stated Reddy.
