East Delhi: Taking cognizance of a report published by Dainik Jagran, the railway officials swung into action and removed illegal coolies from the Anand Vihar Mega Terminal.

It should be noted that illegal coolies were thriving at the Anand Vihar Mega Terminal and fleeced rail passengers. The commuters then reported their grief to Dainik Jagran and after the investigation, it published the report on June 24 regarding illegal coolies.

The officials have expressed gratitude to Dainik Jagran for publishing the report and bringing the matter to light.

It was reported that there are only three licenced coolies at the terminal and around 50 people are working without a permit.

After the news got published, the railway security force chased them out and warned them of Rs 2000 fine if they are found again.

Five coolies from New Delhi Railway Station have been pressed into service and the proposal for creating 20 new licences was passed to avoid any difficulty to the passengers.
