Dehra Dun: Uttarakhand's Governor-designate Aziz Qureshi on Sunday said there are "immense" possibilities for development in the hill state and promised to fulfil his responsibilities once he takes charge.
Qureshi, who arrived on Sunday, was received at the railway station by State Planning and Youth Welfare Minister Dinesh Aggarwal, a release from the Raj Bhavan said.
Praising the hill state, Qureshi said Uttarakhand is a beautiful state with simple and hard working people and "this would go a long way in helping it become an ideal state".
"There are immense possibilities for development in the state. I will fulfill my responsibility in the state, keeping up the dignity of my post," he said.
Qureshi, who has replaced Margaret Alva, will take oath of office on May 15.
