"Our party would extend support to AAP's Kejriwal in Varanasi against Modi," CPI-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya told the media in Patna on Friday.

Bhattacharya said the CPI-ML has decided to support Kejriwal to ensure Modi’s defeat from Varanasi.

According to party leaders here, their cadres would work in Varanasi to expose Modi's communal face and his corporate-centric development in Gujarat.

The CPI-ML had in January this year claimed that they were ready for talks with Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party over a possible pre-poll tie-up in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections but nothing concrete transpired.
