Tom & Jerry, Uncle Scrooge, Baloo,Doraemon, and Chhota Bheem are some of the evergreen cartoon characters. These animated characters not only amuse children but also boost creative sense and power of imagination in them.  

Every generation has their own favourite cartoon heroes; Tom & Jerry in 1970s, Uncle Scrooge 1980s, Mowgli in 1990s, and nowadays Chhota Bheem and Doraemon were/are amongst top animated characters.

If we categorise animated characters species wise, we find that after animals, birds are the second choice of animation creators. Many birds- ducks, eagles, roosters, and parrots have been portrayed as animated characters. Here, we bring some popular animated bird characters that will refresh your childhood memories:    

Donald Duck: Donald Duck is a cartoon character created in 1934 by Walt Disney Productions. Donald is an anthropomorphic white duck with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. One of the best cartoon characters ever created, Donald Duck first time appeared on screen in the animated programme "The Wise Little Hen" in 1934.  Also, Donald Duck won the Oscar for the best animated short film in 1942 for "Der Fuehrer's Face".

Daffy Duck:  Daffy Duck, an animated cartoon character, was produced by Warner Bros. Styled as an anthropomorphic black duck; the character appeared in cartoon series such as Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies in the late 1930s. Daffy was one of the first of the new "screwball" characters which was created to replace traditional characters like Mickey Mouse and Popeye.

The Road Runner: Portrayed with Wile E. Coyote, The Road Runner was seen in Fast and Furry-ous which was released on September 17, 1949. The animated character was directed and created by Chuck Jones.

Dinky Duck:  Dinky Duck, an animated character of Terrytoons Studio,  New York, USA, was released in 1939. It was a character from a short movie ‘The Orphan Duck’.

Chicken Little: Chicken Little, an American 3D computer-animated comic science fiction film released on October 3, 2005, was produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and directed by Mark Dindal. This 81 minutes long animated movie was the 46th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series.

Foghorn Leghorn:  Foghorn J. Leghorn, an animated American rooster that appears in Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons for Warner Bros, was created by Robert McKimson in 1946.  There were 28 parts of the cartoons in the series.
