1. Bhakra Nangal Dam (Himachal Pradesh): A dedication to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhakra Nagal Dam is the third largest reservoir in India built across Sutlej river


2. Indirasagar Dam (Madhya Pradesh): Built across Narmada river Indirasagar Dam's foundation stone was laid by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and it is one of the largest reservoirs in India.


3. Nagarjuna Sagar Dam (Andhra Pradesh): Initiated during Green Revolution, Nagarjuna Dam is one of the largest reservoirs in India built on Krishna river.


4. Tehri Dam (Uttarakhand): This dam is one of tallest reservoirs in the world. It serves well for irrigation, municipal water supply and mainly for generating hydro-electricity.


5. Sardar Sarovar Dam (Gujarat): This is a part of the Narmada Valley Project and is the largest structure to be built on Narmada. Sardar Sarovar Dam is a gravity dam built on river Narmada and generates hydroelectric power.
