Here, we bring some distinct personalities who have changed the face of Africa.  

1. Kofi Annan: Kofi Annan, born in 1938 in Ghana, had held top post of the United Nations as Secretary General from 1997-2006.

2. Nelson Mandela: Nelson Mandela was one of the greatest world leaders on land. He was born in 1918.  Mandela fought against apartheid in South Africa. He was imprisoned for over 27 years. Mandela had received Nobel Prize in 1993.

3. Mustapha Rabah Madjer:  Mustapha Rabah Madjer is one of the greatest footballers. He played for Algeria. He was a big star during 1980s.

4. Jacques Henry Kallis: Kallis is a one of the greatest cricketers. He is among very few all-rounders who scored around 25,000 runs along with 565 wickets in International cricket. He played more than one decade for South Africa.

5. Desmond Tutu: Desmond Tutu had received Nobel peace prize in 1984 for his contribution in campaign against apartheid in South Africa. Tutu is know for his humanitarian works.

6. Haile Selassie: The king of Ethiopia Haile Selassie was a staunch supporter of  African independence movement. He had fought against Italian invasion of Ethiopia during the 1930's.

7. NasserGamal Abdel Nasser: NasserGamal Abdel Nasser was second President of Egypt. He had a wide influence in world politics.
