Chandigarh: The Haryana government on Wednesday announced a package of incentives for the employees working with the state roadways.

A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting between Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the representatives of roadways employees here, an official release said.

The night shift allowance of the workshop employees has been enhanced from Rs 18 per shift to Rs 40 per shift and the shoe allowance to Rs 1,000 from the existing Rs 600, it said.

Chief Minister Hooda also approved regular pay scale for the contractual employees who have completed two years of service, besides an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for such employees who died during service.

The government also announced to provide free travelling facility to the widows of the employees in state buses. On the occasion, Director General of Haryana Roadways Arun Kumar the Chief Minister that the number of buses in the fleet of state roadways will be increased to 4500 during this year.
