Home Minister Rajanth Singh, on a six-day visit to China, tweeted after meeting Chinese Premier Li Keqiang: "We agreed to increase cooperation on counter terrorism mechanism and discussed a range of other important issues''.

He said he had 'a fruitful meeting' with Li. The minister also met the Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, Meng Jian Zhu.

Earlier, an official statement here said the meeting between Singh and Li lasted for 40 minute and both the sides agreed that their ties would not only benefit the region but also the world.

Rajnath Singh also met State Councillor and Minister for Public Security Guo Shengkun. Singh invited Guo to visit India early next year. Guo accepted the invite.

There was a general agreement between two the countries that urbanisation and technological advancements posed new challenges for law enforcement agencies.

The two sides felt there was merit in exchanging views on these challenges and initiate a process of mutual sharing, experiences and learning.
