Pithoragarh: In an apparent attack on the Congress for its party workers brandishing black flags against him, Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said on Thursday that the priority of the ruling party should be to bring back money stashed abroad.

Addressing a huge gathering in the second phase of his Bharat Swabhiman Yatra, he said, “The country does not need black flag but black money deposited in foreign banks.”

Reminding people of the crackdown on his fast at Ramlila and launching a direct attack on Congress, he said, “The union government made three attempts to kill me by putting my camp on fire at Ramlila Maidan, but the saviour is bigger than the killer. Once they failed to kill me, now some workers of a particular party are revealing their true identity by burning my effigy.”

He was addressing a huge crowd at Dev Singh Maidan in Pithoragarh. He said, “The nation is engulfed by rage on the issue of corruption. Lakhs and crores of people are joining the movement everyday. We are demanding the black money deposited in banks abroad. But we are being shown black flags instead. The black flag cannot eradicate poverty, illiteracy, inflation and unemployment.”

Comparing the present situation with Mahabharata, he said, “Some innocent party members are demonstrating black flags under the party name. However, there are people like Bhishma, Dronacharya, Kripacharya and Karna in Mahabharata but due to the party leadership, they are also supporting immorality.”

Clearing his stand on political connection to his yatra, he said that his movement is not against any party but to bring back black money and to banish corruption.

Meanwhile, Ramdev felicitated Kumau Gaurav Swami Kachahari, an eminent personality in social work and 119-year-old Baba Vankhandi.

Uttarakhand Potable Water Minister Prakash Pant was also present at the occasion.
