Mumbai: Amid allegations of policy paralysis in the government functioning, Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma on Saturday said those who are engaged in wrong doings cannot escape.
India is a rule-based country and there are processes which will "take care" of wrong doings, he said at the ET Awards function here.
He was responding to HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh's query on how the government would instill confidence again in the Indian bureaucracy which comes to a stand still the moment scams comes to light.
Sharma further said that the country is passing through difficult times and "India can ill afford a situation of suspicion and distrust".
On judiciary, Sharma said long pendency of cases should not be there in courts.
Sharma also expressed concerns over a very low ranking of India in the World Bank's ease of doing business list.
