The hype and hoopla of terror threat is already surrounding the World Cup, due to which the security will be the main concern at Mohali where around 100 VIPs from different parts of the world will arrive to cheer the high-octane clash between the two arch-rivals India and Pakistan on Wednesday.

The entire Chandigarh is under a tight blanket of security, as both the countries will be countering for the first time in the Indian sub-continent since the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

The security forces went into top gear in Mohali and its connected areas are going to be a no-fly zone during the match keeping in mind that high-profile dignitaries are expected to visit the stadium to witness the crucial encounter between the two teams vying for a place in the finals.

The clash between these arch-rivals in the cricket ICC World Cup 2011 is the most awaited one, and might come with some risks of terrorist activities. All necessary steps have been taken in this regard.

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has extended an invitation to his Pakistani counterpart Yusuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari to watch the game. The invitation has been accepted by Gilani.

There's a proposal to have an eye in the sky with an unmanned aerial vehicle. Anti-aircraft guns are being used for the first time. NSG commandos and 48,000 security personnel have already been deployed in the area.

An estimated 1,000 police have already descended on the luxury Hotel Taj in nearby Chandigarh where both teams are staying, a force which includes Indian army commandos.

On this most significant day, all borders will be sealed and Pakistan fans will be allowed entry only via the Wagah border. All forward air bases are also on high alert and the Indian Air Force will keep an eye on things.
