According to media reports, the SUV, named as CR-U, will be launched in India to compete with the entry-level utility vehicles like the Renault Duster, Mahindra XUV500 and the Ford EcoSport.

Based on the 2014 Honda Jazz platform, the compact SUV will make its way to the Indian car market in 2015. According to reports, the SUV will have a 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine, a 5 speed manual gearbox and a front wheel drive layout.

The CR-U should make its debut in India at the 2014 Auto Expo; however, its launch will depend upon the readiness of the facility in Rajasthan, which is under construction now. The SUV is expected to be priced around Rs. 9-10 lakh.
