She has won numerous medals for Indian badminton including the bronze medal at BWF World Championships in 2011 and a gold and silver at 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games respectively in women's doubles.

Here are few fascinating facts about her...  

1. Jwala picked up the badminton racquet over the tennis racquet when she was just six-year-old.

2. She won the Junior National Badminton Championship at the age of 13, followed by the Women’s Doubles Junior National Championship and Senior National Badminton Championship.

3. She won the Women’s Doubles National title for seven more years in succession.

4. Jwala paired up with Ashwini just before 2010 Commonwealth Games and won gold medal for India. This was the first gold medal for India in this event.

5. In 2011, the duo became the first Indian pair to win a medal at the World Badminton Championships. They were also the first and the only Indian pair to qualify in two events in the entire history of the Olympics game, during the 2012 London games.

6. Apart from her various professional feats, Jwala  has also worked for multiple social causes. These include women empowerment,  anti-tobacco and anti-zoo campaigns.

7. In 2011, Gutta was awarded the Arjuna award by the Indian Government.
