BCCI is not in a mood to compromise on players fitness this time around like last tour to Australia. During India's overseas tour in Australia, Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshkumar had to return home because of injury during the Test series. Later, the board had to announce Axar Patel and Dhawal Kulkarni as their replacements.

BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur justified the step by stating that board doesn't wants situation like player breaking down mid-way into the series.

The fitness test will be held on June 6. The team is slated to leave for Dhaka on June 7 to play a one-off Test and three one-day internationals.

Earlier, players' fitness was not monitored by the Indian team support staff because they were busy playing the Indian Premier League after the World Cup got over. In such case, the board receives feedback on players' finess from the franchise they play for but this time it has decided to do the test itself.
