The latest version of the Google operating system, Android 4.4, was rumoured to be named ‘Key Lime Pie’. However, they had a change of mind at the last minute and named it KitKat after striking a deal with Nestle.

The same Indian tech group had launched a similar campaign last year to get Google named Android 4.4 as kaju katli, which is another popular Indian sweet.

The earlier versions of Android too have been named after sweets and confections such as Donut, Éclair, Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean.
