Singapore: To highlight Rabindranath Tagore's achievements during his global travel, the Singapore Indian community is hosting an exhibition.
The exhibition and a musical evening "Tagore & The Romance of Travel" was opened by the Indian High Commissioner T C A Raghavan by lighting the traditional Indian lamp last night at the Singapore National Library auditorium.
Organised by India's Culture Ministry, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the High Commission and The Tagore Society in Singapore, the exhibition is being held between March 30 to April 4, following which it would be hosted in Melbourne next week, a spokesman for the Indian High Commission said.
Rantideb Maitra narrated history of Tagore's travel to various parts of the world on Dhrupad music and its connection with the Indian legend.
The exhibition celebrating Tagore was held in China and Malaysia last year.
