He made his mark by winning gold medal in 1958 Asian games and Commonwealth games. He lost the bronze medal in 1960 Olympic games by just 0.1 seconds. His wife Nirmal Kaur has led Indian women’s volleyball team. The couple got married in 1964 and their son Jeev Milkha Singh is a professional golfer.
