New Delhi: There are strong indications inside the central government that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram may again take charge of Finance Ministry. After Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee’s resignation from the post, the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh assumed the charge of the ministry.

An indication of Home Minister Chidambaram’s return to Finance Ministry came from the government on Tuesday

However, the government is leaving no stone unturned to raise the revenue collection and boot the state of economy. The government is also exploring the possibility for attracting more and more investment in the country.

According to the sources, Chidambaram may take over the charge of Finance Ministry anytime after the start of the Monsoon Session of Parliament commencing from August 7.

Chidambaram was working as the Union Finance Minister during first tenure of UPA government but after the 26/11 Mumbai attack in November 2008, he was shifted to Union Home Ministry to boost the state of internal security of the country. Since then he has been working as Home Minister.
