Indore: Setting the effigy of Russian government on fire, scores of saints belonging to Sadhu Samaj took to Indore streets on Wednesday to express their anger over the ban on Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the foreign country.

Under the aegis of Dharma Samiti, several sadhus and worshipers observed dharna at Bara Ganpati crossing. Indore Sant Samiti president Luxmandas along with several other sadhus sat on the dharna at Pachkuiana Temple.

Teachers and students of Venkatesh Devsthan and Sanskrit School too attended the dharna.

Dharma Samiti said, “If the Centre does not mount pressure on the Russia to scrap the ban, more agitations and protests would be carried out in future.”

Members of Nasir Khan-led Muslim youths participated in the protest and raised their demand to remove the ban on the holy scripture.
