Mumbai: Amidst low inflation and concerns over hike in RBI policy rates, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex nudged up slightly by 38 points on Friday.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,199.96 points, was ruling at 18,179.1 points, up 37.7 points or 0.21 percent soon after start of trade, compared to its previous close at 18,141.4 points.

The 50-scrip CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was ruling at 5,442.45 points, up 0.26 percent.

Broader markets were ruling dull with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.17 percent up and the BSE smallcap index up 0.25 percent.
