The floods have not only hit the lives of the common people but also devastated the state tourism. Inflow of tourists has declined sharply in the past few weeks due to the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir.

Trades in valley have been hit amid fear in the minds of devotees planning to take up the pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi during busy festival season.

The number of devotees has also dwindled in the valley. The state government is not only reeling under pressure to bring people's lives on track but also finding it difficult revive its business.

Floods have shattered all hopes of small as well as big businessmen in the state. The lesser number of pilgrims has affected small businesses in Katra from where the pilgrims begin mounting towards the Vaishno Devi shrine.
