Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails were either killed or mentally tortured. Prisoners, while expressing anger over inaction by the Government of India in dealing with the matter, said that they have lost hope of returning home.

Vinod Sahni, a resident of Jammu, was released from Kot Lakhpat Jail after 12 years, had said that Indian inmates face very rude and violent atmosphere inside the jails. He also informed that several Indian prisoners were killed inside the jails and their bodies were disposed off.

The letter dated – June 27, 2013, which was received by Vinod Sahni recently, was written by Kuldeep Singh Yadav of Ahmedabad and Kuldeep of Makwal in Jammu. The letter also mentions signature of 11 prisoners. Apart from them, 17 others (including 4 women) are suffering from mental illness.

The letter was written on the day when another Indian prisoner Zakir Ahmed died at a Pakistan jail on June 27. It had been alleged that he was not provided proper treatment.

Indian prisoners Sarabjeet Singh and Chamel Singh were killed by Pakistanis in January and April this year respectively.

The Indian prisoners have also written that the Indian authorities should ask the Pakistani government to kill all the Indian prisoners lodged in various jails there.
