New Delhi: Facing criticism for not installing CCTV cameras in and around the Delhi High Court, the state government and the police are now planning to install hi-tech CCTVs like the ones installed during the Commonwealth Games (CWG).

The decision to this effect was taken after the review meeting held in the Delhi High Court on Monday. Besides the Chief Justice of High Court, representatives of Delhi Police, Public Works Department and the camera installation company ECIL (Electronic Corporation of India) attended the meeting.

The ECIL explained the qualities and features of the analog cameras and the latest IP camera. According to sources, considering the quality and efficiency, the latest IP camera would be installed.

It is to be noted that as per the previous plan, the investment of Rs 66 lakh was decided to install 49 analog cameras, whereas the latest IP cameras and its installation would cost at Rs 2 crore.
