New Delhi: The 14-day long India International Trade Fair (IITF), which saw 437 overseas exhibitors from 23 countries, ended on Tuesday.
"The fair received 290 foreign trade delegations/visitors from 44 countries who came to IITF to look for products of their interest," India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), organiser of the annual fair, said in a statement.
IITF 2012 had the 437 overseas exhibitors from 23 countries, the largest so far in the fair. There were a total of 6,000 exhibitors.
ITPO Chairman and Managing Director Rita Menon, while speaking at the award presentation ceremony on the closing day said there were about 15 lakh visitors to the fair.
She said the IITF has been gradually transforming itself from an event exclusively for entertainment and retail sale to an event of serious business exhibitors.
'Inclusive Growth' will be the theme of IITF 2013. Minister of State of Commerce and Industry DPurandeswari presented the awards to the winners.
The minister said that the fair has been a highlyproductive forum for promotion of goods made by rural industries, artisans and other micro enterprises in both Indian and overseas markets.
