Lucknow: In a subsequent headway, the CBI has brought some prominent faces into light in connection with Uttar Pradesh NRHM scam.

On Saturday after the suicidal attempt of Namit Tandon, a prime witness of the scam, CBI investigating into the matter found that Chairman of UP Co-operative Federation Limited (known as PCF -Pradshik Co-operative Federation),  Ramchandra Singh Pradhan, his wife and close associate Agha Rizwan were also involved in the case.

Namit Tandon was running Rama Enterprise constructed 27 ANM centres under NRHM funded Janini Suraksha Yojna. According to the sources, Tandon approached Ram Chandra Pradhan, close aide of former Family Welfare Minister Babu Singh Kushwaha to get the contract. In this process close associate of Pradhan, Agha Rizwan was also present.

If the sources are to be believed, Rama Enterprises received Rs 1 crore on February 22, 2011 and Namit gave Rs 50 lakh to Agha Rizwan. Suspecting that the money was delivered to Pradhan, CBI quizzed Namit from November 28 to December 2. During the investigation, questions were raised on Shreya Eneterprises, firm owned by Pradhan’s wife.

Denying all the allegations, Pradhan said, “I don’t know who Namit Tandon is. Agha Rizwan is known to me and works for the enterprise run by my wife. If I seriously wanted to get involved into corruption, I would have thought to go for Rs 50-100 crore instead of Rs 1 crore. I have never contacted any contractor for NRHM.”
