Gwalior:  IPS officer Narendra Kumar’s murder accused, Manoj Gurjar, has been remanded to Morena sub-jail by a local Court here on Friday. Gurjar was arrested a day after the incident on March 9. He was initially in the custody of the state police.

Interestingly, the CBI, didn’t seek Manoj’s remand rather worked on gathering key information, if any, about the alleged involvement of any officials of the state’s mineral resource department in the case.

Meanwhile, the CBI sleuths also questioned mineral department and administrative officials regarding the case. According to sources, the CBI is engaged in gathering information about the illegal mining upon which slain IPS Narendra Kumar acted against.

A local court on Tuesday remanded Manoj Gurjar, to three-day CBI custody after which he was taken to guest house of SAF battalion where CBI grilled him. The probe agency after obtaining the custody, took the accused to the spot where the officer was killed, and recreated the scene of the incident.
