Chandigarh: Projects started to control the fury of floods in Punjab are nearing completion, Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon said here on Thursday.

Fortification of embankments of canals and rivers is also about to complete, he said presiding over a review meeting of the senior officers of the Irrigation Department here.

The remaining work on these projects would be accomplished within stipulated time frame, he said.

"We will ensure that there is no loss of life and property due to floods in case of heavy rain," he added.
