New Delhi: An Indian national claiming to be a freelance journalist has been arrested in connection with the attack on an Israeli diplomat here last month and will be produced in a Delhi court on Wednesday, police said.

"Mohammed Kazmi, in his early 50s, was arrested on Tuesday night from south Delhi. He will be produced in the Tis Hazari court on Wednesday afternoon," a police official said.

Delhi Police said it has "almost cracked the case". Four people were injured when an Israeli diplomat's car was hit by a bomb near the Israeli embassy in the capital Feb 13.Tal Yehoshua Koren, wife of the Israeli defence attaché, suffered multiple injuries when a motorcycle rider attached a magnetic explosive device to her car and sped away. Within seconds, the device exploded with a thunderous sound, setting the car on fire.

Koren moved back to Israel after getting treatment at a private south Delhi hospital. Three others injured were discharged after being given medical attention.
